5Earthquake Straps for Water Heater  Mar 03, 2011 By M. B. Phillips
These installed easily and seem very solid. I got an estimate from a contractor to install my new water heater, and they were "very proud" of their work. I'm an average DIYS person, and I did the job with some help from my son (he's good with a wrench.) These straps are reasonably priced and good quality. The screws drove in easily with no pilot hole. Too easy to install to pay someone else!!

5One less thing......  Apr 18, 2009 By L. Jenkins "yadax3"
After the reported "swarm" of earthquake activity in our area recently, having this strap in place just gives me one less thing to worry about. Short of having tested its performance in an actual earthquake, it appears to be sturdy enough, holding our water heater firmly against the wall. Installation was pretty simple too.
