1Doesn't stay lit  Sep 15, 2011 By P. B. ODonnell
Purchased this lighter based on the other reviews. The lighter worked fine initially, but after a few days it would only stay lit for a second or two and then it would go out. The ligther was still full, but had the same issue even after topping off the butane charge. I also tried several different flame settings, from low to high, and all have the same result - flame on for a second or two.

Unfortunately I threw away all of the packaging because it worked fine when I first got it, and I didn't expect it to fail so quickly. I only subjected it to very light use. (Lighting 3 cigars over a 2 week period!) I would return it if I could.

2Disappointed  Sep 27, 2011 By Tux
When it works, it works really well - it has a nice powerful flame. However, the problem is that it sometimes just doesn't work, even on the highest setting. It will light for a brief instant, and then extinguish. I can hear the fuel coming out, but there's no flame.

It also doesn't work at all on anything BUT the highest setting.

Too bad. I'll keep it in my kit (I use it to fuse paracord ends at Scout activities, btw), but will look for a replacement, too.

5Wall Lenk LMJ280 Turbo-Lite Torch  Mar 04, 2012 By Richard L. Cox, Sr.
If you are like most people doing automotive wiring there is just something about using crimp connectors that leave the job looking incomplete and half done. Shrink wrap and soldered connections leave a better functioning and looking wiring job. That's where the Wall Lenk LMJ280 Turbo-Lite Torch comes in.

It fits in the palm of your hand making it easy to carry and to use, once you have the wrap covering the solder connection simply pull out the Torch, press the igniter with your thumb and aim the flame at the shrink wrap. In a few seconds you have a professional looking job and ready to go to the next connection.

It is also very useful for any tight fitting place where you need direct heat to solder or unsolder any type of connection. The blue flame is hot so be careful not to burn yourself or your project. Also the plastic construction makes it a bit fragile if dropped. I lost my first Turbo-Lite Torch by dropping it on a concrete floor and the case cracked. But I had used it for over 15 years with no worries. It simply worked, this replacement is identical.

Looking for an ultra-small high heat torch then this is it.

5Lights that alcohol stove instantly!  Jul 07, 2011 By Richard Wood "ricosf"
I use a very lightweight alcohol stove when I'm backpacking, which uses denatured ethanol. One of the problems with that fuel is that it has a low vapor pressure at low temperatures. So the stove is really hard to light, especially in the mornings way up in the mountains.

I'd previously bought a Soto Pocket Torch, but that thing stopped working really soon. But while it was still working, it was so much nicer to instantly light my little stove with its very hot blue flame that I hunted around and found this.

So far I've only taken it on one forty-miler into Yosemite, but it worked beautifully.
