Engineering not as good as before Jan 15, 2010
By William Yerazunis I have a new one (ordered in 2009) and an old one (made probably 15 years ago). The new one has no upper jaw brace, thinner metal overall, and doesn't have as deep a throat. However it does have a wider flange on both jaw brazes. They work about the same. I'd say look in the used tool stores and garage sales/fleamarkets- you might save a lot.
Great for spot welding Apr 07, 2012
By Michael Schoenfeld I bought these to use for holding together sheet metal as I spot weld it together. I would def buy them again.
nice clamps Mar 04, 2012
By Emergifab I use these quite often at work and they last really long, actually we only use Irwin and Wilton clamps. These are nice to fit up channel and tube. Its nice not having to use two 11r's and a piece of flatstock.
Vice Grip Rules! Sep 11, 2011
By J. Bunner They work great! I have three of this particular model. The split design allows you to align and weld a seam...giving good visibility the whole time. Vice grips are better than a third hand for welding.
