3Suncast SPH2490 24-Inch Snow Shovel/Pusher  Dec 21, 2010 By pipper
I was very happy to see that I could purchase this shovel on-line. I have purchased this exact shovel in the past at a cenex store. I loved it and used it so much that the blade has wore down about 4 inches. My dad also liked using this shovel at our home so I purchased him one too. My husband and I have not been as happy with either of the new shovels. The metal blade/strip is bowed in the middle and leaves a small patch of snow with every run. We believe the more we use it the sides of the blade will wear down and this should no longer be an issue. Some of the great features about this shovel is the spring in the handle and it is light weight. When one runs into an uneven sidewalk the spring really takes the beating and not your stomach.

5Best snow shovel/pusher on the market  Dec 15, 2010 By Peter Kiang
We lived in north/central New Jersey for 10 years, so used quite a few snow shovels and pushers along with a snow blower. Moved to north Georgia few years ago and never thought we will need to push snow again. But we really could use one last winter as our driveway was mostly shadded and slopy, so I decide to buy one on-line since retail stores here just don't carry them.

I loved the snow shovel/pusher I used in New Jersey, which works much better than just a shovel on paved driveway up to few inches. I found a standard Suncast SP2450 model on Amazon which looks exactly what I used before. This is really best product for the job in my opinion. Amazon offers free shipping so the total is $30, similar what I paid for years ago in NJ so I was happy, but it was out of stock already. Then I found this high end model at $35 so only $5 more than the standard model. It has organ color on the bar and handle grip so looks better, but I wasn't sure if the shock absorbing spring D-Grip handle is strong and durable enough by looking at the pictures. I do love the idea as I have jammed my wrist many times hitting ice or rocks. No reviews yet, but with blizzards brewing in mid-west and moving east, I was afraid this one will be sold out soon, so I took the plunge and ordered it.

I ordered it on Sunday and it arrived today (Wednesday), so it really took less than 3 business days to receive it. With free shipping that is excellent speed. I wish I can say the same thing about the stuff I ordered from Wal-Mart site to store, which I am still waitng after almost 3 weeks.

Inspected the shovel/pusher closely, and I have to say $5 more is well worth the money for the upgrade compared to the standard gray model. The spring handle is well designed and looks very strong and durable. And the D-Grip is actually paddled with non-slip rubber so not just hard plastic. Very nice. Don't think you can designed a better snow shovel/pusher than this. This will most likely be the last one for my lifetime.

Thanks Amazon!

1Suncast SPH2490 waste of money  Feb 25, 2011 By gzipf1
I was excited to get this shovel since we are having record snowfalls in Minnesota this winter. Unfortunately the first time I used it, I noticed it was not making good contact with the driveway. This thing is bowed in the middle so the metal wear strip does not touch the ground all the way across. Only the edges make contact and after one shoveling the edges of the wear strip are now worn down to the plastic. I'm very disappointed. I went to Fleet Farm and bought a new all metal snow pusher that cost less and works as intended. The Suncast is too much trouble to try to ship back and maybe I can use the handle on a different shovel.

3Hard to use on my concrete driveway  Dec 15, 2010 By Brian E. Millsap
Don't know if it's just my concrete driveway, but the metal edge of this shovel is so sharp that it constantly binds on the concrete and is very hard to push unless you hold it at (for me) an uncomfortably low angle. Don't know if it would be OK on a different surface.
