Well worth it. Jun 09, 2009
By JW Please don't laugh (I'm new, but learning fast), but I had never heard of Starrett until last year when I ran across a reference in a product review on another website (something like, "It's no Starrett."). After researching further and not finding one negative thing about them, I decided to invest the extra money in this punch set. No regrets, baby! This is a super high quality set. Nice and solid. If you want a cheap no-name "quality" (probably Chinese) punch set via mail-order from someplace like CheaperThanDirt for $10, then fine, more power to you; but as someone having just come from that and ending up frustrated & angry because the dang things bend and break in two when trying to remove a simple pin from a firearm--not to mention scratching the finish when it does--my advice is to save your money, bide your time, and invest wisely in something that'll last a lifetime and do the job. This Starrett set is just the ticket.

Best pin punch set May 15, 2007
By Steve Soloway This set, I recently re-bought because I thought that I had lost my old set. My old set is 30 years old, and all 8 peices are still intact and in very good condition. Oh, I bent the 1/16" punch once, but I was rough with it, and straigtened it out to be used another 30 years I hope. All in all, this is one excellent pin punch set.

these are awesome Dec 03, 2010
By Joseph Murratti these punches are freakin tough. i used them to punch out my Springfield XD sights. anyone thats knows anything about the XDs knows those sight are next to impossible to knock out. i banged on the sights with a hammer and these punches as hard as was possible to get them out. took me about 50 whacks for the front and the rear each. i used the biggest of the 3 smaller ones and it didnt bend at all. these are supper sturdy and the grip area on them works very well. hands down the best punches ive ever used or seen. the price is not too shabby either.

Quality and precision Apr 04, 2011
By Doctor.Generosity L. S. Starrett, which is located not far from me in Athol, Massachusetts, is still in business in those huge old red brick mill buildings while most of the metalworking industry in the US has been displaced by .. ugh .. China. Starrett makes quality tools and takes pride in their work. These are lovely steel pin punches, precision made. Yes, they cost twice as much as the Chinese version, but worth it. Buy them; you'll feel good about it and you'll use them a long time.

Geat Product Dec 01, 2010
By The Principal I only used a few punches during my AR-15 build. I used the smallest two and they both worked great. They did not bend or flex even a little bit. I read the reviews on other punch sets and went with the better quality. The exta money for these punches is worth it.
