2Not a magic bullet  Jul 05, 2008 By M. Newman
The guides are not fail-safe, and when using a tool this aggresive, you need fail-safe. When using the system on floor tile, the guide tends to wander out of the grout groove, especially where four tile corners meet and aren't exactly true. I don't know how this system could be improved upon, but the risk of cutting into the tile just made me too nervous to continue using it. Also, as the bits wear -- which they do quickly -- the tendency to wander worsens.

2Not for Sanded Grout  May 01, 2009 By Brad Hibbard
If you are looking to remove sanded floor grout, this is not the tool for you. I ordered this and along with it came one rotary diamond grout cutter. The attachment doesn't allow for full depth and the cutter lasted about one tile.

3Cheap grout bit!  Oct 08, 2008 By Dave Nichols "The Tile Man"
I have made it less than three inches through the grout in my tile and the bit broke in half. I wasn't very deep, nor was I putting much pressure on it. The bit is shaped like a Q-Tip. It has a rounded end and then it gets very narrow, at which point mine busted. I have the whole day off to do this job and I am done 5 minutes into the project. Nicely engineered part! Lets see how amazon's return policy is?

1two thumbs down  Sep 25, 2010 By Albert H. Nakano "bertman4"
I purchased this kit because I needed to redo the floor grout. First the guide is nearly worthless. The depth locking mechanism is only on one side. If you put any amount of pressure on the guide, and you will put pressure on it, the guide starts bending. This is just a poor design. Second the grout removal bit does not last. I used it on sanded grout and the bit lasted two 9-inch tiles. I thought I was putting too much pressure so bought a second bit, but it too dulled very quickly. The tip becomes useless but there is still grinding material further up. I ended up using the wheel attachment with a masonry wheel to carefully cut through the grout, then wide the cut with a variety of RotoZip bits. I also used a Dremel grout removal bit with a Dremel. Despite the smaller size, the Dremel bit lasted longer than the RotoZip bit. Based on these observations, I cannot recommend this RotoZip kit.

4Great product  Dec 21, 2011 By SteveW
I ordered this for an upcoming project
that I'll start in January.
I know it will come in handy, and help
to make short work of grout replacement
tasks.
