3If you own Poulan Pro 260 PLEASE READ  Sep 30, 2011 By J. Phillips "watever"
I ordered this chain thinking it was the correct one. Oregon's own website stated it was the right chain when you plug in Poulan Pro and model number 260. When I went to put it on the bar it obviously was too short. (The package insert also says it fits Poulan model 260)

When I called Oregon they had me read the number on the part of the old chain that fits in the bar.It was 91.Then they had me read the same part of the S56. It also was 91. At that point she had me count the number of links in the chain and it came out to 62. She said you need the S62 (18-inch).

So if you own a Poulan Pro 16 inch chain saw you would assume, if you are an infrequent chain saw user, that you would need the 16 inch replacement chain that fits Poulan. WRONG IN MY CASE. My 16 inch Poulan Pro takes an 18 inch chain and I have now ordered the Oregon S62 which is an 18 inch chain !!

Now I know that no matter what chain saw you have you must count the number of links in the old chain in order to know with certainty the correct chain to buy. Some guys will be giggling reading this, but I thought I would help out some other guys that don't use chainsaws every day and maybe save them some time, frustration, or both.

4Good Value for the Price  Jul 05, 2009 By D. Lewis "Travel Man"
I had been buying chain replacements for my Craftsman 16" chain saw from Sears for around $25. Even after paying for shipping I still saved about 30% with these chains. Not sure why but the Sears has 57 links (S57) versus the S56 for the Oregon chains.

2Does not fit Poulan 3516F  Jun 23, 2011 By Lana V Rybak
Too bad I did not read one of the comments that says that this chain, S56 does not fit Poulan 3516F even though it is listed as a fit both on Oregon site and on the box. This chain is at least one link too long for this saw and cannot be tightened.
