3Yep, its a valve. But...  Jun 12, 2010 By Michael Forfa
it is what it is, a valve. However when i attached a propane cylinder to the valve, it was leaking through the valve and it was closed tightly. So i (easily) disassembled the knob and found that there was no gasket/O-ring to completely seal off the valve inside. I was able to create my own gasket and reassemble it.
