Cooking with gas! Apr 13, 2011
By Bill Van Atten I finally found a regulator with a PSI high enough to stop wasting propane while trying to bring water to a boil fast! Those regulators in the 5 to 30 PSI range just don't get the job done. This 60 PSI allowed me to boil water in a 30 knot wind and maintain it while boiling crabs. I'm buying 3 more so that I have one on each of my different types of burners.

great product, works well and... Apr 16, 2011
By Cotton Socks
"Cotton Sox"
This works as expected. I tested it with a pressure gauge before installing it on my BBQ and it adjusted from almost no flow, less than 1-psi to 65-psi.
Also the review by Debra stated she had to buy the new OFP (Over Fill Prevention) style fitting, but if you look at the OFP propane tank you will see the old style fitting will thread into the inside of the new OFP tank outlet. They did that so that people with older equipment did not have to buy new fittings to use the OFP tanks.

Don't rate it poor because you're stupid... Jan 14, 2011
By Responsible Gee, I knew I was buying something that I didn't actually want but let me go ahead and order it and maybe the Amazon Fairy will make it just what I want !! Oh who cares about the cost of shipping ...The Amazon Fairy will fix that too !! GET A CLUE ! Read the description, check out the shipping cost and then order it if that's what you want. Don't review the item poorly because of your own ignorance....
Both those reviews are worthless !

No problem at low pressure. Feb 08, 2012
By kwb Two reviewers have criticism over poor regulation at low pressure, but I didn't have any such problem. I think this is an awesome product. FYI I'm using this with a home built propane burner which has a jet hole size of 1mm (think #60 drill bit). I tested the burner between 20 and 3 PSI (measured with 0-30PSI pressure gauge) and didn't have any problem. Didn't take much time to test lower than 3 PSI as my burner is kind of useless for my purpose when the pressure is that low.
Another thing, about the fitting. This works with newer propane tanks. Cotton Sox is right, newer fittings on the propane tanks are designed such that the outer thread accepts ACME type 1 connector (bigger thing typically tightened by hand) and the inner thread accepts POL connector (this one).
Note that POL has left-handed thread unlike almost everything you're familiar with. Every time I need to attach one of these to the tanks, my muscle memory automatically makes me turn it clockwise to screw it in. And every time this happens, for 0.1 second or so I'm like "OMG this doesn't get in, what the ...", and then I remember to turn it counter clockwise.

Building a Leach style stoneware kiln Nov 06, 2011
By pyro Potters building a Leach type gas kiln, look no further for your regulator. I tried a diff one from a turkey cooker first, rated a 30 psi. Not quite enough flow for two burners. For my gutted electric kiln and two verturi burners, this is the right regulator. It's a rocket. Cone ten in four hours empty.
