5Price is for bulk box of 50 not just one...  May 06, 2008 By *Chantal Ritz* "animal lover/nature spirit"
Perhaps Raimunda in the other review overlooked the quantity; the price is for a package of 50 earplugs, and at regular price that would make each pair just a little over a dollar! Very reasonable for commercial use. I don't have this exact pair but another reusable earplug that is made identically, for the same decibel rating. The description says this is the highest attenuated reusable earplug available--meaning the best ear protection from loud sounds. Once you've suffered hearing damage, such as long term tinnitus (ringing in the ears), you begin to think ear protection is worth its weight in gold! These would be convenient for yard workers, landscaping crews and offer protection from loud engine sounds that do damage to hearing over time. Even families could benefit from such protection, since hearing damage is cumulative and your children can be affected by the noise levels, as well as the parent using the mower or weedeater repetitively over the summer. I had months of tinnitus from similar damage, and it finally was corrected thankfully; however, now I know how important devices like these are. (Note: they're currently listed in the Gold Box for almost half the original price, so an even better deal--cheap enough to buy lifetime supply and share with family.)

5Great Deal, and Great Earplugs (If used as instructed)  Feb 23, 2010 By Ben C.A. Nettle
Well, I saw this box of 50 packs of 27db reduction earplugs for 14.99 w/ Free Shipping and couldn't resist. I've bought similar pairs in the past for $5-$8 each, so the price tag was great.

They are packaged into a distribution box (meant for commercial use from the looks of it), and each set is individually contained in a plastic storage carry box with a loop to hook onto belts, clips, D-rings, etc. Opened up, the earplugs come connected to a plastic line which allows them to stay hanging from your neck when not in your ears. The plugs themselves are made from a soft rubber like material, and overall construction is pretty good.

The biggest thing to do is make sure to read the directions for proper ear protection. People not used to this style of ear plug often just try to shove them in their ear and call it good. You actually have to pull your ear up and back at an angle, in order to get a straight line up for the plugs to go in for a proper fit. Then, as mentioned on the box, if you hold your hands over your ears (with the plugs in) the noise difference should be almost unnoticeable. This means they're working. Proper fitting is up to the wearer. Follow the instructions and they'll be just fine.

Otherwise, at $15 for 50 pair of solid ear plugs, this is a great deal. Leave some in the garage, some with your range bags, a pair in the cars, etc. (Or use them commercially as intended).

This is a great deal, and great set of plugs for the money.

5Incredible buy!!!  Jun 11, 2009 By Peggy "pab920"
I bought these while on a gold box special for under thirteen dollars for 50 pairs. Each comes in its own plastic box with a belt loop so you don't have to store them in your pocket. This style is soooo much easier to use and not lose compared to the individual foam ones. For those who do not think they offer hearing protection, if placed into the ear properly they certainly do. The key is creating suction when you put them in your ear canal. For some this may take a few attempts. The local shipyards, naval bases, and construction companies use this type and the foam ones for their employees and the employees I've spoken with prefer this style over the foam. I do agree that having over the ear muffs work better depending on actual specs, but then cost, convenience, and compliance may not make having them available feasible.

5A lot of earplugs for a good price especially when on the special sale  Sep 09, 2008 By MightyFavog
These work pretty well. Are they as good as my expensive over the ear muffs that I wear when using power equiptment? No. Are they handy to keep in the briefcase or pocketbook because you never know when that movie or show you attend is going to be too loud? Yes. Are they better in an emergency than stuffing toilet paper in your ears? Yes.

5Ear Plugs...  Jul 14, 2009 By J Man
These work great, if you use them right. If they don't seem to do much, they are not far enough in you ear. Not super comfy, but super cheap, at least when I bought them. Great for work if you don't need to wear them all the time, they easily hang around you neck by the cord without falling off. Lifetime supply if just for a couple people. They each come in their own little plastic case.
