5best blade for the Makita saw for the money  Oct 20, 2011 By ICanFixThat!
bought a similar blade from a local lumberyard for almost exactly the same price. Immediately noted that the new blade was thicker and sounded different than the Makita my saw came with. In use, the new blade appeared to be about as well balanced as the Makita was - after the Makita blade had a carbide tooth or two knocked off (why I replaced the blade).

Now I keep my old Makita blades for those situations where a nail is inevitable, and a new Makita blade in the saw for new wood only.

The new Makita blades are a pleasure to use... a knife in hot butter. I have learned that the extra thin kerf allows the saw to build up more speed, and as long as I keep a light hand on the cut, the blade and saw work beautifully together.

Why spend my hard earned money on another blade that performs like a worn out Makita?
