5real fine machine  Oct 20, 2004 By Scott Miller "woodfish"
i have only owned it for a couple weeks, however comparing it to my experience to the the PC 310, it is much quiter, lighter and the feel in my hand is amazing. i plan on using it as a cut out tool as well, so light weight and a solid one handed grip was essential to me.. the led lights work nicely, and I believe the description doesn't mention the soft start feature.very smooth and quiet...this makita doesn't even move in your hand when you turn it on! clear base is nice too...and this model has a bearing guide base attachment, for bits without a bearing, if you desire to use it,or you can take it off...

5Simple; Powerful; Easy to Use  Aug 10, 2007 By George Heiser
I'm impressed with this little router. But it is little only in size and therefore ease of operation. The base easily and quickly comes off through the use of a latch and then changing bits is no problem at all. There is plenty of power for so small a power tool. So far, it has not bogged down in anything I've used it on. For me, the 3707FC fills a much needed gap. Instead of my larger Bosch or Hitachi routers I can quickly ease edges and do cut outs off the table and basically hand route my workpiece. Also, the led worklights add much needed see ability to my routing. The soft start feature is helpful too. I have a number of Makita power tools and this one will be used often. Very satisfied with the quality and performance!

4Excellent Buy on Small Router  Apr 08, 2007 By James T. Higgins
This is really a small router, easily held and controlled with one hand. It's one limitation is lack of precise adjustment of depth of cut. It has plenty of power for mortising of small hinges, chamfering of edges

5Great for Veneer Tape  Aug 08, 2010 By Willy Chambers "Willy"
I bought this trimmer a year ago for various veneered plywood cabinetry projects because I was tired of wearing out sanding discs prematurely when it came time to trim or sand-flush the edge-banding. This vertically-balanced trimmer-router really does the trick, straddling a 3/4-inch plywood edge with very little wobble from side to side. Tear-out is also virtually unknown as the unit stops on a dime (or make that a 1/4-inch, straight router bit's diameter). As for dust collection, it would be pointless to add any sort of attachment to something this thin and light; and as the machine is designed to trim laminates and the like, the dust generated is (at least theoretically) fairly minimal and easily cleaned up afterwards. Depth adjustments are indeed a little bit catchy due to the sliding mechanism, but given the machine's hand-held lightness and its primary function to be used with a guided bearing, this is not too much of a problem. Great for what it is intended to do--trimming laminates (and veneers)--as well as for those wanting a light-duty router functioning somewhere between a Dremel-style tool and a 1-3/4 or 2-1/4 "HP" fixed-base router.
