Does the job Nov 08, 2009 I've been using these as ear protection while running chainsaws, and they've worked out very well. I haven't found them to be uncomfortable as some other reviews have -- in fact, I kind of wish they would push a little deeper into my ears, as the noise suppression level is sufficient, but not fantastic. Honestly I think you get quieter results from the cheap, foam, roll-them-up earplugs, but these work fine for my purposes, with the added convenience of the band to aid taking them off and on.
UPDATE: My band snapped after about two weeks of use. I replaced them with Howard Leight QB2s, which feel a lot more durable and also have a higher dB reduction rating.

Mixed Review Jun 08, 2009 I agree with the other reviewer. If you're using these while stationary they're fine but if you intend to move around a lot they're very painful. God forbid you tab the band while you're wearing them, it's like directly hammering into your eardrum.
They effectively block out noise and are fine if you're staying in one spot for short amounts of time.

better than the foam ones Nov 29, 2008 These are great when you first put them in. And for my purposes, they are fine. I put them on for a few seconds while using a tool and take them off while preparing for the next cut. However, if you need to wear them for more than a few minutes, they start to hurt a bit. The earpieces themselves are fine, but the band clamps a bit too hard for me. That said, they come with extra earpieces and they're washable, so they're leaps and bounds above the more expensive AOS band that I had before.

Better than individual ear plugs Jun 16, 2008 In fact, so much better. I have medium grade tinnitus, and have been using ear plugs for many years to avoid flare ups after mowing the lawn, for instance. These don't go too deep inside your ear that you have to dig them out sometimes, are easy to remove and re-insert when a neighbor comes over to talk, easy to clean, and the band provides just enough pressure to keep them snug. Not as sound deadening as some foam plugs but adequate for me, and better in the way that they maintain the deadening level.
