Completely destroys a bubble level May 31, 2005
By TheKorn After calibration, my Smart Tool has shown me just how inaccurate traditional bubble levels are. Keep in mind, in order to fully calibrate a smart tool you have to calibrate it in all eight positions. But that's a small price to pay for astounding accuracy!
Don't know why they sell these bundled with a traditional double-bubble level, but they do. You'll quickly learn to turn on the beeper, and never bother yourself with reading a bubble level again.
The only drawback to this device is that it's sometimes TOO sensitive. You have to let it settle for a few seconds before you can "trust" the reading, otherwise you might get a false reading 0.2 degress off either way. But once you know that, it's cake.

Don't use any other brand Apr 30, 2009

I have used this product in a professional welding fab shop, heavy mechanics shop and at home. If you need accuracy, if you need a quick angle for stairs or what your roof pitch is, this tool will do the trick for you every time. Trust it, test it against your eye and it will beat your eye every time. Add it to a six foot standard level for long runs. Can't beat it.

Module can't be used (easily) without the level May 17, 2007
By S. Edwards Product works great but I was disappointed to find out that the module can't be removed from the level for use in smaller spaces. The battery is located in the end of the level with wires running to the module which doesn't have a back on it like it does when purchased as just the module.

Valuable tool Jan 04, 2007

Speed squares and a regular level get's the job done but this saves me time when I have 4 additions to match to existing slopes and 300 miles to drive that day to get the jobs done.

Excellemt work tool Oct 21, 2011

I have used the 4 foot SmartTool Electronic level for several years now at work and have found it to be extremely reliable and durable. I recently replace it with a 2 foot model after I placed the 4 footer where it bent through no fault of its own. It has been used in road construction to achieve accurate slope readings when required. It has been used extensively on hot asphalt for sample slope check readings and functioned fine. While I would not recommend leaving the level on a 300 degree surface for an extended period of time, doing so for the few seconds it takes to get an accurate reading does not adversely affect it(and yes, it does take a few seconds to settle and give an accurate reading). I totally recommend this product and work with many other contractors who also use a SmartTool level.
