2Too Fragile  May 23, 2010 By Ribbet
This replacement touch sensitive switch works well and is easily installed, but it is too fragile. After a few weeks the cat knocked the lamp over, causing the bulb filament to break and the lamp to go out. However, when I replaced the bulb I found that the touch switch had also been destroyed. I have learned that this seems to be a common problem for many dimmers and touch sensors. In fact, the original sensor switch in the lamp was killed in the same way by the same cat. When the bulb filament breaks from abuse or just normal use, there is usually a current surge which burns out a touch sensor circuit component, so every 50 cent bulb replacement will also require a new $12 touch switch.

4Works as advertised  Dec 10, 2010 By Wizzard
Product works as advertised. The only point of confusion was the wiring diagram wasn't clearly explained.. Look at the bottom margin to get coding of the diagram. After that easy installation.

5Westek 6503HBLC works well  Dec 23, 2009 By P. Schroder
Just installed the 300W dimmer control. It was small enough to fit easily in the old space, and works just as it should.

4Inexpensive and works fine...  Oct 16, 2009 By G. Miller
We have several touch wall lamps. We love how they work, but the control gizmos blow up after a few years. This replacement dimmer replaces the one that comes in the new lamp after the old gizmo gives up and dies. The instructions are clear and anyone with a lick of sense who can follow instructions can fix their lamp for a few bucks. Be aware that altho' very similar in size, these control boxes are not necessarily the exact size of the one you may be replacing. You may have to "wee-womp" a bit to make it fit in your lamp and there is a small chance, if your lamp originally came with an unusually small one, that it may not fit at all.
