5Great cart. Great price.  Jul 22, 2010 By D. Adamec
I was looking for a bicycle maintenance cart. I wanted something that would hold all my tools, lubes, cleaners and parts. It also needed to be portable so I could push it from bike to bike or in a corner whenever I needed the extra space. I looked at several toolboxes and tool carts and I thought this would be the best bet.

The build quality is above average. It's not a snap-on by any means but it is far better quality that some of the boxes I've messed with in the stores. The drawers open smoothly but the lock is almost useless. This isn't a big deal to me. I like how the top opens and allows you to place parts on the open top while you work.

I can foresee tons of uses for this box. I may have to get another for working on the cars. At this price you can't find a better cart.

5Great, Handy Tool Cart  Mar 02, 2011 By Vincent Frost
Like D. Adamec, I was looking for a tool cart for my bicycle tools. When I compare our reviews, I'm mostly confirming what he has said. I have a growing collection of bike specific and other tools and in my small apartment I'm running out of space to put them. This cart is a great size for me, it's strong and was easy to put together with a screwdriver and a wrench. It would probably be helpful to have someone hold the top part while you bolt it to the legs (if working alone, just completely reverse the instruction book's order of operation: bolt the legs on the top part, then bolt them onto the cart body then add the wheels).

The top was dented a little in shipping, but...it's a tool cart, I imagine I'm going to dent it a time or two more before I shuffle off this mortal coil, because it will plainly last for years. The drawers operate smoothly, the top panels are nice in the way they slide apart to expose an inner, large tool storage compartment. I'll probably cut some rubber mats to size for the lower shelf and the storage compartment.

The build quality is higher than I expected, better than carts that I've considered locally at Home Depot and Lowe's that cost twice as much.

5Christmas present  Feb 06, 2010 By misan
This came with no dents and seems to be made well im pleased with it. Seems to be worth what we paid for it.

4Great design, but came damaged  Mar 06, 2011 By David S Youk
This is a great design that is perfect for my needs, particularly the split top/work trays. The only point design-wise that made me raise an eyebrow is the relatively flimsy mounting base for the casters; I'm sure they'll do their rated job, but it seems certain that'll be the failure point if one of these gets overloaded.

The reason for 4 stars is that the cart came fairly banged up. For something like this, I don't expect it to be flawless, but in addition to the numerous minor dents and one large one that actually cracked the paint (both of which I can live with), one of the top slide-outs had been hit hard enough to not only leave a dent but force the outer rail mechanism past the inner one's bump stop, effectively jamming the whole thing. I had to force it open, then bend the stops back into place. This seems to have fixed it, though some apparently nonessential plastic parts had broken off in the initial impact.

I would have returned it, and I'm sure Amazon would have been accommodating as usual, but it's only a little worse for the wear and I'd rather save myself and my UPS guy the trouble.

It might also be helpful to note that I don't believe any of the damage I saw on the cart was a result of shipping; while I'm no expert, the box was in good condition and the cart was spaced away from the side of the box with styrofoam, also in good condition. I can't imagine how some of the dents could have gotten there without puncturing the box; some could conceivably have transferred through the styrofoam, but others only had some inches of air between them and the undamaged outer box.
