5greatest little thing  Mar 02, 2011 By Steve C
I am in the Army and carried this knife for the past 3 years. I also carry a Leatherman Wave, but rarely access it because this knife is easier to access. You hardly notice that it is there. I also get a kick out of pulling out my small knife when other Army guys are pulling out there 6"+ combat knives. After a deployment to Afghanistan and 2.5 years of daily use, I bent the blade ever so slightly. Now the tip is not flush, comes out 1/16", and nicks my finger during pocket exploration. I never had this problem before and it is probably my own fault that this happened. Needless to say, I'm ordering a new Gerber Ridge because I love this knife so much.

5Must have accessory  Nov 13, 2010 By John J. Kavanagh "SemperFi"
This is my third one, so they are so small they seem easy to misplace. The size allows them to be clipped to your pants pocket whether wearing jeans or dress pants. I normally stick with the straight edge and still trying to determine which I prefer but the serrated edge does provide a little extra bite when dealing with thicker materials.

5Great product  Apr 18, 2012 By Dustin
This is probably the third or fourth Gerber Ridge Knife that I've purchased so far. The knife is great and handy to have all the time, I just have the bad habit of losing them. I bought this one for myself, but I've also given them as gifts to people who see how useful they can be.

5Best little knife this side of the woods  Apr 12, 2012 By Shnick
Bought this knife originally for a first aid kit/survival kit. Had a chance to hike some local trails and decided to start carrying this guy around my neck. Hardly knew it was there, 1.5 oz really doesn't add up to much. Versitile and sharp, it handled everything from cutting tinder to opening up my drop mail. Some folks mention the lack of gerber quality/edge hardness, I for one have had no problems with any of my Gerbers. If you take care of your equipment, it'll take care of you. If I had my choice between this one and the 45874 (non-serrated) I'd still go with this one. YMMV. Either one is a great little knife.

4Good key chain knife  Mar 15, 2012 By Andrew
I keep this knife on my key chain and it serves as a clip to hang my keys from my pocket when I want to. The nice thing is that it is small enough to fit in my pocket with my keys comfortably as well. The knife is very well made and pretty sharp. My only complaint is that the torx screw that holds the knife's opening/closing tension needs some lock-tight on it. I have to finger tighten it almost every day. It is a pretty major design flaw that may not be on all of them, but is definitely on mine. However for a good key chain knife I think this is your only option...unless you want a cheesy Swiss army one.
