5sturdy, well-made  Dec 02, 2007 By Christopher Koch
light body, solid when open.
Easy to flick open with the thumb, but it requires a bit of force to get started.

5Gerber 45871 AR 3.50  Jan 21, 2012 By Saved Forever
I really like this knife and use it as my primary every day carry. The rubber on the handle is tough and easy to grip, the locking mechanism is twice as thick as the Smith & Wesson SW5000, and the blade stays fairly sharp even after cutting 18 gauge solid wire. I've been using it daily for well over a year and it has held up nicely. I recommend it for anyone needing a durable serrated edge folding pocket knife.

5Great Knife  Feb 17, 2011 By JeffBro
Exactly what I expected. Knife is fully capable of one hand opening (and closing). Blade is rigid, can be used to pry. Use to own the AR 3.00, lost it, this one replaced it and I am happy I upgraded to a bigger size. Good knife for the price.

5Great Pocket Kife  Dec 29, 2009 By Michael Golding "Texas Mike"
Gerber generally makes really good, affordable blades but this one is above most of their other products. I collect knives, and since Gerber blades tend to be a little more affordable they usually end up being my "workhorse blade". They always keep their edge no matter the abuse and I have been impressed with this one as well. The blade hinge is smooth, locks firmly in place and is really comfortable in my hand. It can open for a left handed person and is really attractive. Really like it.

1Nice Knife. Poorly Packed.  Jan 31, 2011 By David DePalma
I like this knife, but it was packed in the hardest plastic available with an open blade. Not only was it unsafe, it caused me to scratch the teflon finish on the blade, which quite honestly really upsets me.
