This thing cuts through anything! It's great for yard-work and around the house. The fact that I can (and already have) replace the blade, meaning I always have a razor's edge, just makes it better.

All I can say is these are awesome. For whatever job a person needs done, they are easy to use and safe too. I personally am not an electrician. I use these as pruners. No other pruning shear will ever match this! #1 reason is because the blade is replaceable, and that means, always sharp and ready for whatever comes along, roses, shrubs, large weeds, you name it, I prune it with these!!!!!! These are hard to find. Cannot be found in any store. Amazon.com rocks! Thanks!!

Easy Fix for Blade Replacement! Mar 04, 2011

Great Tool! Makes nice clean cuts! I would have given it 5 stars except for the same complaint that other reviewers have had. If you do not have a replacement blade that it is at least as thick as the original blade supplied with the tool you will be unable to sufficiently tighten down the blade. I could not find blades that are thick enough at the big two home improvement stores. However, I discovered that the problem was not the blade thickness and that you can fix that problem with a small flat file. If you remove the retaining plate and the blade, you will see that there is a round alignment pin that fits into the notch of the blade. That pin is too high! When you tighten down the retaining plate with a thinner blade inserted, the retaining plate bottoms out on the pin. Simply file this pin down enough so that it is less than flush with a thinner replacement blade. You will now be able to tighten up a thinner replacement blade and have now turned a 4 star tool into a 5 star tool.

I used this once in my Stained Glass class (borrowed from tutor)for accurate cutting of lead and was immediately impressed. However I am far less impressed that it seems to be unavailable in the UK and cannot be shipped to the UK from the US.

I've had the super knife for a couple of months now and have to say it's been great. The replaceable generic blade has worked great since it's razor sharp when I need it, but remember you'll need a screwdriver to change it. The anvil is made of soft plastic which gets cut into slightly when doing lots of cutting, but this has not been an issue for me. The overall construction is sturdy, the metal is laminated sheet steel which is plenty strong and the plastic handle covers have taken a few good blows and are no worse for the wear.
I didn't really know what I needed it for when I bought it, but I keep it in the kitchen and it's been great for everything from rope, tubing, thick plastic matting, wooden skewers, flowers, and any other precision tasks which could be preformed with a razor sharp shear. Be careful grabbing it out of the drawer though, because it is easy to not snap the locking mechanism securely and it will spring open when you expect it least.
I'd buy it again!
