5Great clamp on, but you probably also want a bench multi-meter  Sep 26, 2009 By C. Fleury
The 902 is a great product, solid and gets the job done in HVAC. Compared to a regular multi-meter, the 902's screen is much smaller and harder to see, and often at an angle to the work that you're doing. Fluke gives you a hold button for these situations, which is great, but I often find myself pulling out a bench multi-meter for quicker troubleshooting and basic continuity checks. If I were shopping now, I would definitely get the 902 and then maybe get a basic bench multi-meter, maybe the 115. I would then use the 902 for the micro-amp, micro-farad, and AC amperage measurements, and the bench multi-meter for everything else. I personally have a Fluke 117 with the 902 and am very pleased. Remember don't go cheap on your meters: something like 80%+ HVAC problems are electrical, and I personally don't want to hold a no-name meter in live circuits.

4Poor backlight !  Jul 14, 2009 By billard...IU "spot"
I have been accustomed to using Fluke meters with the blue backlight, which are very easy to read, and then I bought this meter with the green backlight and I don't like it. The blue backlight is a brighter light, with equal intensity over the whole LCD screen and the green backlight is just not as easy to read, but it is still a high quality meter.

4Great meter for the price!  Dec 25, 2011 By Harley Guy
I have been an HVACR tech for 35 years and the Fluke 902 is the best clamp around meter I've used in many years.Fluke finally got it right for us in the HVACR field with the 902.I don't have to carry multiple meters anymore! The back light needs to have an adjustable time limit, turns off to soon for me.Overall a very solid meter that will last many years.
