Support rods broke very quickly in normal use! Aug 16, 2009
By B. Blonder I loved this hauler for the first week. Then, I was using the hand pulls to drag the debris to our dump area, and the support rod broke at one of the joints. Disappointed, I continued to use it, and later the support rod broke in another place! I noticed that another reviewer complained about the same thing happening to him. I don't think that it can even be replaced - it doesn't seem to be available separately. Too bad, because it's a nice idea with a serious flaw.

Expedites Leaf Remoal Oct 25, 2010
By Dr. W. Gray Jerome
"Jay Jerome"
We live in the woods and the leaves really pile up around the house. We have a fence and wall on three sides and a rake or leaf blower can only help me pile the leaves up against the wall. In the past I have filled 30gallon trash cans with leaves and hauled them to dump over the wall. This container is perfect. Two stakes in the front hold the front edge taught while I rake the leaves onto the bed. It is then easy to unstake, fold up, and carry the equivalent of 3-4 trash cans of leaves to the wall. It has really cut my leaf clearing time. I have only used it for a month (4 raking sessions) so I do not know how it will hold up over time. However, for now, I think this was a smart purchase.
Addendum- at the end of the season one of the stays that forces the hauler into shape failed. The hauler is still usable and I still think it better than the alternatives but it would be better if the stays were more substantial.

Great helper Apr 15, 2009
By Ann Great help with raking leaves. They don't go out the other side when you rake a new batch in. Staking down the front holds the fabric and the hauler in place which makes it easier to rake the leaves in. And the back wall keeps leaves in place when you drag the hauler to empty it. Overall great product but a few things to look out for--the assembly rods are difficult to put into the sleeves and the first day, the material holding one of the stakes ripped off (fabric holding them to the hauler is flimsy). Stores easily once the rods are removed. Despite a couple of flaws, this is a great product that has been a terrific help during spring cleanup and I'm sure I will be happy I have it when the leaves start coming down in the fall!

Broke within one hour of use Nov 18, 2008
By Stephen D. Rader I had high hopes for this. I have a ton of leaves and usually use a flat tarp, which is difficult to place and to drag. This product has a nice design and was easy to assemble. However, it broke within the first hour of use. It has three collapsible rods which provide the shell, and the back one snapped while I was dragging a normal sized load to the curb. By the time I had finished raking for the day, the same rod had broken in another place, and one of the anchors had pulled off and was lost. Too bad, because this item has real potential.

Good with side rods replaced Apr 20, 2011
By Joan T. Chollar I bought this knowing I would probably have problem with the rods, judging from the other reviews. And one of them broke the first time I tried to assemble it. So I replaced the side rods with 5' cord cover tubes (wiremold cordmate channels at $4.49 each at Home Depot or Lowe's). This fits and works just right. So as long as the longer back one stays unbroken, I'm all set. (Otherwise I'll find something else to use to replace it.) Having the back raised helps if you don't have too many leaves to work with. And it holds just enough leaves that I can still pull it when it's full. So it was worth it with the replacement rods.
