There were no surprises when I received this. Denali is not the top of the line but the price could not be beat. The quality is superior for the price, though not superior. If you're a professional, this is not for you. If you're a hobbiest like me, this is perfect. It's nice to have everything in one location so there's no digging in your shop. There could be a couple of improvements. One, loose the pink handle and front fasteners. Find another color a little more manly. Also, packing foam in the drawers would have eliminated all the time I spent putting the driver bits back in their proper location. They were everywhere.

Over the years my drill bits have gotten scattered, damaged, and lost. This kit seemed like a good way to get a comprehensive set of bits that I could keep together and find when I needed them.
My kit arrived today. Like everyone else's many of the pieces were rattling around loose in the box when it arrived. After sorting everything back into place I was missing 2 bits. Not a big deal, and the kit had duplicates of the 2 missing pieces, but still disappointing.
The kit seems long on driver bits and shorter than I would like on specialty bits. I'll probably never use up one T40 bit and don't need 3 of them. On the other hand, I'd have liked a wider selection of paddle bits (it inexplicably skips from 7/8 to 1-1/4, omitting the 1" bit). Similarly, the hole saws jump from 1-3/4 to 2-1/8, skipping the 2" size.
My original intention was to replace the bits in this kit with good quality bits over time as I wore them out. Rather than 5 separate 1/16 bits, I'd have rather had 1 or 2 good ones.
The masonry bits look somewhat fragile and only go to 1/2 inch. In all fairness, I only got the kit today and haven't used any of the bits, but I'm not optimistic about their durability. I suspect they'll get me through a project, then I'll have to go out and replace the ones I used. As noted, that was my original intention anyway.
Fortunately there's some extra space in the top of the box. I'm going to need it for the 1 inch paddle bit, a 5/8 and maybe larger masonry bit, the more comprhensive set of hole saws (I'd like to go up to 3 inches or better), and the other items I probably won't realize I don't have until I need them.
I'll probably keep this set, but what I'd rather have is a more comprehensive set with fewer pieces (not so many duplicates) of higher quality. I'd happily pay 2 or 3 times the cost of this set for something like that if I could find it. If anyone knows of such an item please post a review and let me know. I'd swap this one out in a flash.

Best thing about it is the box. Really keeps things organized. I will get a lot of use out of this set but the quality is definitely not the best. Probably a good deal for the money.

Great Item for price. May 27, 2008

As others have experienced the items in the case get scrambled in the delivery process. The only issue I had was with the 3rd drawer which holds the small screwdriver bits. I spent ten minutes putting things in order and as some have thought I was missig pieces. A couple were loose behind the 3rd drawer but was still missing 5-6 pieces. The drawers are a hollow piece of plastic with a solid shell but there are 4 holes in the bottom. I found the remaining pieces in the 2nd drawer cavity.
In my opinion, unless you are looking for tools for an everyday usage, these are perfect for the price. People have said this set gives you too many duplicates, but I have to disagree. This set gives you a few duplicates but the most important duplicates it gives are in the screwdriver bits. Different head width for regular and phillip head bits are very essential to me since I don't like to strip screw heads.
If you are new to tools or just need a basic set for home use this is a perfect set. I doubt I'll have to replace anything but the drill bits of this set in the next 10 years.

Short of a security bit set, this set has pretty much everything you will ever need, the quality however is quite lacking, $59.99 is a bit much for what you get.
