I've always used dollar store drill bits before this set, and after breaking the better part of two different sets of cheap bits, I decided to get something a little more enduring. These bits are great, they cut metal and wood like butter. The pilot tip is awesome, now I can use a hand drill in cases where with junk bits, I definitely would have used my drill press. A couple words of caution, these bits bite hard into plastic (sometimes when the pilot tip breaks through, rest of the bit grabs and tears through), so go slow.

These drill bits are the envy of all my friends. They are expensive compared to other drill bits of less quality, but very well worth the price after you have had a chance to use them. They make drilling effortlessly when compared to titanium drill bits.

These drill bits are simply amazing - 10 out of 5 stars!!!! I cut 20 5/16" holes through 1/4" stainless steel almost as fast as I can drill through a piece of wood (use cutting lubricant for this and start with a smaller bit first - you don't need to start with an 1/8, you can start larger) and on the last hole, the bit was just as sharp a when I started. They cut as a high quality tool should, by cutting steel into long shavings, not little pieces. Oh and if you have to cut regular old mild steel, the metal doesn't stand a chance. I wonder what they do to aluminum, they probably eat it for breakfast!
For a set of bits that can cut stainless like butter, the price is also amazing!

DEWALT DW1269 29 Piece Cobalt Pilot Point Metal Drill Bit Index SetI WAS IN THE PROCESS OF SEARCHING FOR THE 1969 PILOT POINT WHEN I CAME ACROSS THIS SET OF JEWELS..IT WAS A NO-BRAINER THAT I SELECTED THE COBALT,ESPECIALLY SINCE THE COST WAS ONLY $69.OO!!!THE DURABILITY OF THESE BITS ARE WHAT YOU WOULD EXPECT..IF I HAD TO DECIDE ON PURCHASE AGAIN,I WOULD NOT HESITATE TO BUY THESE..THEY ARE WELL WORTH THE DEFERENCE IN COST,ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU CAN FIND A DEAL LIKE THE ONE THAT I FOUND!!!

THESE DRILL BIT'S ARE AMAZING THEY DRILL THROUGH QUARTER PLATE MILD STEEL WITH ZERO EFFORT AND THROUGH 10MM 316 MARINE STAINLESS STEEL FLAT BAR WITH EASE AND IN A VERRY SHORT TIME AS LONG AS YOU CHOOSE THE RECOMMENDED STEPS IN SIZE INCREASE YOU CAN GET THE JOB DONE WITH PERFECT RESULTS . I WAS SO IMPRESSED WITH THESE DRILL BIT'S THAT I BOUGHT 2 MORE SETS ONE FOR DAD FOR CHRISTMAS AND ONE FOR MY COUSIN AND I NOW INTEND TO BUY ANOTHER SET TO USE AT HOME AS THE FIRST SET I TAKE WITH ME ON MY FISHING BOAT AS I OFTEN NEED TO DRLL THROUGH 10 MM STAINLESS STEEL UP TO 1/2'' HOLES AND FOUND THESE BIT'S TO BE THE ABSALOUTE ANSWER FOR THE JOB.
