 Must have for construction Nov 22, 2009

This package has proven extremely useful to be in constructing a barn, workshop, and associated fields. This summer I used the level extensively for digging and installing an inground pool. We also constructed a retaining wall and associated paver patio. The guys working with me complained about the loud beeping but overall, we couldn't have completed the work without the level. If you're planning on building anything that needs to be level, invest in this laser level package. It's everything you'll need and you'll be pleased with the results.

Great for setting stakes and machine control Apr 28, 2009

We've bought 3 of these. I already had 6 Topcons and one Spectra Physics. The CST/Berger LMH-C is every bit as usable and reliable as the Topcons and better than the Spectra. Aside from typical grade checks and stake setting we use it for machine control on a 14' box scraper (ni fresno) with a Topcon machine receiver mounted in a John Deere row crop tractor. No problems and runs all day while we laser with the tractor. We get a little better range than specifications and will coordinate two lasers when an area is bigger. While not as elegantly made and designed as a Topcon it's half the price and works.

This level is exactly as described with no disappointments! If you are into more than basic leveling/slopes, buy the cst/berger 600 as it does alot more.

Very satisfied with this laser level. Berger products are the best and you will not find one of this quality and this price. It was used within hours of receiving it and it worked perfect! Could not be happier!

 Needs to be brighter for interior use. Feb 19, 2009

This is a good enough instrument, but it doesn't work well for interior use. We do interior woodwork, and even with a pair of those red glasses, the line is almost impossible to see in a room that has any amount of natural light or light from a work lamp. Also, the line seems to "pluse" instead of being a constant line and gives the illusion of jumping up and down.
Bottom line? This instrument needs to be brighter and faster for interior use.
