5Precise Control  Sep 26, 2009 By S. Kudlacz
The Bosch 1944LCDK is precise and easy to use. Not only can you adjust the desired the temperature to settings at every 10 degrees between 120 and 1200 degrees F, but also the desired airflow. The air power range is sufficient for most applications. The 1944 is much more precise (and more versatile) than the old "hair-dryer" style heat guns.

While those old models may have bit higher airflow, they usually have only one, or maybe two, airflow settings.

The fact that the Bosch model allows you to store four different temperature/airflow combinations is also great. For what I do, I've programmed it for shrinking insulation tubing onto low-voltage wire connections, loosening metal parts, and stripping paint.

Another thing I like about this heat gun is that it comes with a case. Many other models do not.

As for the accessory nozzles, the Bosch HG010, HG030 and HG040 nozzles for the 1944LCD are available thru Amazon, and it will also accept Steinel and Milwaukee accessory nozzles, so you can buy only the nozzles that you need, and you can get them thru Amazon

5Now THIS is a heat gun  Nov 03, 2010 By Michael C. Davis
I've used others, but this one is by far the most satisfying to use. And you should see the power cord! Its like as big as 1/4" rubber hose! I've had it for over a year now, and I've probably used it 25 times, each with a smile.

Expensive? sure.

Worth it? Absolutely.

3Good heat gun  Jan 09, 2008 By H. M. D. Pineda
This is a robust product, good digital temperature control, but not impressive air power. It was not clear to me it comes with no nozzles until the box arrived. It would be better if you are advise on time in order to buy it together. You cannot find this important accessories in Amazon.

5Pricey, but you get what you pay for  Nov 08, 2011 By Ben
Very high quality. Rugged and you can feel it. Excellent build quality and lots of great features.

Heavy duty plastic shell, doesn't feel cheap at all. I think it's a good alternative to the heavy metal heat guns. The metal nozzle is also heavy duty as well. It has discolored some from used but that should be expected. Plastic shell has shown no signs of heat damage whatsoever.

Cable is super heavy duty, hasn't got hot, even warm for me yet. Unlike some cheaper ones I have used that have gotten hot or even melted.

LCD screen is intuitive and easy to use, presets are also a bonus. I use my heat gun a for a few specific tasks, so being able to quickly select my settings is great.

Being able to set it down on a flat surface with the nozzle pointing up is a great convenience. Allows you to free up your hands without turning it off to maintain heat, or turn off the heating element and crank up the fan speed to cool it off quickly so you can be on the go. Rubber guards around the lcd and another rubber "foot" on the back of the handle keeps it stable when it's setting down.

With the fan speed all the way up it's not very loud. You could have a conversation with someone if you wanted.

Case feels somewhat flimsy, but maybe only in comparison to the gun itself. Case feels sort of like a plastic tackle box or plastic tool box. You can flex it by applying pressure with your finger, that is the most abuse I have put it through. Case has 2 sturdy locking clips and is roomy inside. Room for some attachments. Case isn't molded to the shape of the gun so there's some room for it to move around. It's not a hassle trying to get it in there while fighting the cord like cases that are molded precisely to the shape of the tool.

Doesn't come with any attachments.

I think a tool of this quality and price should have a thicker case and attachments, but the build quality of the tool, included features, and the overall great design is enough for me to still give it 5 stars. I wanted something that would be durable and well designed and I got what I wanted. The case is adequate and if I need attachments, which I don't, I could always buy them separately.

Well worth the money in my opinion. Extremely pleased. The type of tool you look forward to using, I couldn't help but plug it in right away and play with it.

If you need something that will put out more than 1000 degrees and even more durable, look at the metal heat guns, like the other Bosch. It's cheaper and hotter, but you'll lose a lot of great features. Plus, this one looks like a ray-gun. Can't beat that.
