This is a great jigsaw except for one little, minor detail, its impossible to change the blade! Other than that, its the cats ass! Buy American, that's what I plan on doing. Hell, buy Chinese, it does not matter really. Anything but this ill designed thing. Bosch should be ashamed of themselves for this piece of crap.

First bought the equivilent DeWalt jig saw. After the blades would not seat properly I took it back and purchased the Bosch. Blades click right in and seat firmly so there is no fore/aft or lateral movement whatsoever. I have used a few other jig saws, and this one outperforms them all. I highly recomment it.

This unit is a huge upgrade. I've owned a Hitachi, Porter Cable, and Freud and this by far is a superior saw.

I bought a new Bosch 1590ESV jig saw a few weeks ago(got mine on E-bay). I'm extreamly satisfied. Lots of power. With so many blade choices available, this may become my go-to saw. If you want to spend the $ to get a real good saw, I would recommend this one or the Milwaukee. I guess its one of those "you get what you pay for" things.

I've owned a couple other jig/scroll saws. The one prior to this, I *thought* was the best. It is still a very fine saw, however that brand (P.C.) has "bayonet" style blades - they are very difficult to find, and IMPOSSIBLE to find locally. It seems you can go anywhere and buy the traditional "universal" or "T" shank blades such as Bosch uses. Not the "bayonet" style though!

I cannot be on a job site and need a blade, for which there is no local supplier.

All that said, this is now the *BEST* jig saw I have ever owned. It is a bit heavier that the previous saws, but it is the BEST. You can purchase an optional rip guide, which I will be buying. The ease of removing and re-inserting the blade is almost unbelieveable. Practically vibration free, the easiest to set up, and the finest blades available are made by Bosch.

Don't even screw around with the others. Buy this one and be done with it!
