3pluses & minuses....  Aug 03, 2008 By emmielusion
I purchased this cordless vac out sheer desperation & exasperation. All the cordless vacs I checked were pretty much ment to be disposed of when the batteries were no longer chargable ~HUGE WASTE!
This Denali cordless vac because you have an 18v. rechargable battery (not included) may give one the impression that it could be used for tougher jobs~ ah,WRONG! It has adequate power, but the dust cup is EXTREEMLY small & fills very quickly. This cordless vac is not good for the garage/workshop or sucking up any small gravel that's on the floor of your car. Also, that 18v. battery adds considerable weight to the vac...may not be a good gift for the woman in the house to use. And I always have a heck of time getting the front off to even empty the dust cup. The makers should go back to the design board with this one. On the plus side (if you have or intend to buy other Denali power tools) the removable batteries are ment to be used w/ other Denali power tools. What is nice is that you don't put it on the charger when your done~ it sits upright on the battery butt very nicely anywhere. The battery is easy to slide on and has an indicator button you push that lights up different levels so that you know how much power is left. And the charger (sold separately) charges really fast! But I recommend that you don't keep the charger plugged in when not charging as it does get quite warm.
Cost: I bought the vac,2 batteries and the charger on sale here on Amazon for about $75.00 & didn't pay for shipping.
Overall for me it was the wiser investment. I got tired of buying the other vacs & then disposing of it cause they don't sell replacement batteries.

3Good Vaccum - Odd Shape  Aug 26, 2008 By T. Samuel
I recently purchased the Denali Bare-Tool cordless vacuum. I primarily wanted it for my car. It has good suction power however its odd nose shape makes it dificult to get down on the sides of my seats or in tight places. I need to find a hose extension or possibly purchase a completely different vacuum.

3Nice to have replaceable Battery  May 28, 2009 By Richard Hughes "Pickydick"
Has plenty of power but no capacity. It needs a better filter system like the newer Black & Deckers.
