1Unforgivable  Aug 10, 2009 By M. C. Fueston
A year after I bought the entire Denali 18v set, the BATTERIES ARE UNAVAILABLE. And the helpful little note from Amazon reads: "not sure if or when this item will be available." Amazon, this is absolutely unforgivable. At the very least, a responsible company would tell us if some other battery will fit the tool. And yet, Amazon still sells the 18v tools as "bare-tool," with no warning that batteries aren't available! And, yeah, after a year, the batteries (I have 2) are pretty much shot. Back when it had batteries, though, it was a decent tool!

5works very well  Sep 22, 2008 By Stephen Cunningham
I used this tool to do electrical cut outs in a new dry wall installation. I discovered that even when using guide point bits designed for this work this tool has so much power that it will melt/cut right through the side of the plastic box if you aren't careful. It takes a little practice to develope the feel to use it on plastic boxes.

Since I lack the patience and or skill to use this on plastic boxes without cutting into them I built a metal cover plate that I install on the plastic box that permits me to quickly router the drywall without damaging the box. Once the hole is routered I just pop of my cover and move it to the next box.

I found that it also works great for doing the cut outs before the sheets are installed while blocked up on my cutting table if I mark the location and use the metal edge of my t-square as a guide. I start in the lower left corner and slide the flat side of the depth shoe along the square to the right to the second corner, I hold the tool stationary against the square and slide the square up along the drywall with the tool held stationary against the square to the opposite side of the cut out opening, to the 3rd corner. Then I slide the tool to the left along the square to the forth corner, then hold it stationary against the square and slide the square back down to the point of origin while holding the tool against the blade. This results in a perfect square or rectangular opening in much les time than doing it with a knife or drywall saw. It takes less time to do it than it does to describe it.

I have now also used it to cut out window openings in drywall on my cutting table using my t-square as a guide, it is a little slower than using a knife but it is also a lot less effort.

This is a good tool that does exactly what it is supposed to do. I don't know what else it could do any better. I can't wait to cut the circles for the can lights in the ceiling!

5Fantastic Hole Cutter for even Better Price  Aug 18, 2008 By C. Bird "Big Bird - Real Reviews"
This thing runs Amazing. i cut through 1/2 partical board with the included cheap bit in no time. it has a good circle guide, and the batteries are strong. the real question is how long it will last. for the price i paid it was cheaper than buying a 6" hole cutter, and has much more function than just that cut. i am pleased, and will buy another as a backup if the price goes lower again (i paid $20)

5Excellent tool for the price  Oct 14, 2010 By Richard Hughes "Pickydick"
Good tool for the price. Works well and is an excellent value. The accessories that come with it would probably cost more than the tool. I'd recommend it.

5Really great value  Apr 06, 2009 By Laura L. Larsen
I bought this tool, thinking I might find a use for it (as I was going for the three-tool/bag/battery/charger discount pack). Within the first week in my new home, I was changing the thermostat out and found that I needed to move the wires down about 2 inches.

I grabbed this little guy, slapped in a battery pack, and a drywall bit, and within just a few seconds, had cut a channel to move the wires down.

It did great; I just wish I could think of other things to use it for.
